GETTING READY TO JOIN
We are thrilled that you are getting ready or considering applying to be a producer on The Label Space. Before you fill out our Producer Sign Up form please take some time to understand what is required to become one of our producers.
PRODUCER DESCRIPTION
In order for potential Artists to get to know you, you will need to have a Producer description that really sells your skills and highlights the great work that you have previously done. It is also important to show potential artists what your process is and how you will work with them.
We recommend that your description in at least two or three paragraphs long.
PRODUCER LOGO
You’ll need to have a great looking logo in order to be considered as a Producer with The Label Space. Your logo will help you to stand out and compete for business as it might well be the first thing that a potential Artist sees. After all, first impressions can count for a lot.
We recommend that your logo is at least 400×200 pixels in size.
TWO OR MORE PREVIEW TRACKS
Great previous work is likely to be the main pulling factor when trying to convince a potential Artist to work with you. This is why we recommend having at least two great preview tracks. Of course, the more tracks that you have to showcase your work the better…but let’s not go overboard with too many. Between two and six of your very best work will do the trick.
A PAYPAL ACCOUNT
At The Label Space we use PayPal as the main payment gateway when distributing payments between ourselves and our Producers. We use PayPal because it is fast, safe and widely used across the world. Once you application is successful you will need to input your PayPal details into the portal so we can process your payments minus our fees.
AN UP TO DATE DIARY
It is important to meet and exceed the expectations of any Artist that you work with. One of the easiest ways to do this is by setting realistic start dates and deadlines. To facilitate this, we use a dynamic calendar for potential Artists to use to select their project start date.
Maximum project durations are set at 10 working days for a single, 20 working days for an EP and 40 working days for an album. Whilst projects should conclude in a shorter timeframe, we set these times so that the Artist knows the longest amount of time to recieve the finished project and so the Producer knows the longest amount of time that they will wait to receive full payment. A project can conclude earlier if the Artist signs it off before these timeframes.
